Autumn in Pacific Northwest is arguably the best time of year–cool, crisp mornings, sunny afternoons, and the return of occasional rains to help water the garden as you enjoy the waning days of harvest and the changing colors of the leaves on the trees around the area. Additionally, autumn is the best time of year to plant just about any shrub, tree, or perennial to help it get the best start. Soil warmed by summer’s heat encourages rapid root development while shorter days minimize the stress of transplant, ensuring your plants will be well-established long before winter’s cold winds blow.
