This year, more than ever before, we’ve found our customers are interested in growing their own food, both as a way to ensure their food supply and as an enjoyable stress reliever. Whether you’re a first time gardener or have shopped with us for years, we’re excited to help make your gardening budget go further with Tomato Days!

Each year, on the first weekend in May, we offer a selection of some of our most popular tomato varieties for just 49 cents each, and this year is no exception–join us this year on Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2, for this year’s Tomato Days sale. This year’s sale will look a little different –we’re moving it outside our greenhouse to allow for social distancing measures–but we’re looking forward to sharing our favorites with you once again. This year’s 49-cent tomato selection includes Beefmaster, Better Boy, Bush Early Girl, La Roma, Marriage Big Brandy, Sun Gold Cherry and Supersweet 100 Cherry, limit 10 per customer. Other varieties of tomatoes will be be available for $1.69-$5.99 each, and we’ll have a great selection of other vegetable starts available as well.

In order for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience at our Tomato Days sale, we ask that you please observe the following guidelines:

  • Please limit attendees to one or two per family (no young children, please).
  • Observe social distancing, keeping 6 feet between you and other customers.
  • Minimize time at each tomato table to allow other customers to shop.
  • After selecting tomato starts, enter the store through our south set of front doors (into the greenhouse) and form a line to pay for your purchase. North set of front doors (into the store) is an exit only.

While you’re in, be sure to pick up the tomato cages you’ll need as well as the fertilizer and insect control your plants require to grow their best. To keep your tomatoes healthy and increase your crop yield, we highly recommend Jack’s Classic Tomato Feed, a water-soluble fertilizer designed just for tomatoes and other vegetables. With added calcium, Jack’s Tomato Feed will prevent blossom end rot, a frustrating deformity that leaves your tomatoes with hard, blackened ends. Use Jack’s Tomato Feed and your tomato plants will grow bigger, better and healthier than ever!

We look forward to seeing you this year at Tomato Days 2020, and appreciate the opportunity to help you grow your own food!
